The Spain Property Retreat is back for 2027, and this time it’s in Valencia. From 24 to 28 March 2027, 12 guests spend four days with mortgage specialists, a property lawyer, a notary and local agents, see real homes across the city, and leave with a written plan. If you’ve been reading about buying in Spain for years without getting a straight answer, this Spain property retreat is built to give you one.
Spain Property Retreat: Why Valencia
Valencia has become one of the places international buyers look at most. According to Spain’s Property Registrars, foreign buyers made 29.6% of all home purchases in the Valencian Community in the first half of 2026. The city combines a historic old town, beaches within the city limits, a lower cost of living than Madrid or Barcelona, and good flight connections across Europe.
It’s also where Tharros is based, so the people you meet during the retreat are the people who would help you buy afterwards.
Where you’ll stay
Guests stay together in a private villa with a pool in the Valencia area, booked for the group alone. Transport to every session, viewing and activity is included. We share the exact address with confirmed guests before the retreat.
Spain Property Retreat: The Programme, Day by Day
Wed 24 March · Arrival & the city
Settle into the villa, then a guided walk through Valencia’s old town: the Cathedral, Plaza de la Virgen and the Silk Exchange, then along the Turia gardens to the City of Arts and Sciences. Welcome dinner at the villa.
Thu 25 March · The practical reality
Morning mortgage session with 1:1 consultations alongside, so your own situation is reviewed the same day. Afternoon session with a property lawyer and a notary on NIE, taxes, contracts and due diligence. Evening panel with expats who have already bought in Valencia.
Fri 26 March · The properties
Private viewings in the neighbourhoods buyers ask about most: Ruzafa, Ensanche, Benimaclet and the beach districts of Cabanyal and Patacona. Long lunch by the sea, and in the evening the seafront Holy Week processions in Cabanyal.
Sat 27 March · Your roadmap
1:1 roadmap sessions covering your next 3, 6 and 12 months, with a written action plan and vetted contacts. Pre-approval letters for qualifying guests. Then the Mercado Central, a paella class at the villa and a farewell lunch. Check-out on Sunday 28 March.
The City of Arts and Sciences, on the day-one walk.

Who It’s For
The retreat suits people who are seriously considering buying in Spain in the next one to two years, want straight answers rather than a sales pitch, and want to know whether a Spanish mortgage works for them. It isn’t for people looking for a holiday with a few talks, or for anyone who wants an agent to choose a property for them.
⚠ Check your travel requirements
Most UK, US and Canadian visitors can come to Spain for short stays without a visa, but rules depend on your nationality and are changing as the EU introduces new entry systems. Check the official Spanish visa information before you book flights.
Official entry and visa information is published by Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Spanish visas.
Pro Tips Before You Book
- Book flights into Valencia (VLC). The airport is about 20 minutes from the city centre.
- Bring your recent income documents. Payslips, tax returns or accounts make the 1:1 mortgage review far more precise.
- Write down your questions now. Budget, areas, timeline: the roadmap session is built around them.
- Come as a couple if you’d buy as a couple. Both incomes are reviewed in the double option.
